NEW CASTLE, Ind. — New Castle quarterback William Grieser became the third Trojans player to win The Star Press Football Player of the Week this season.
Grieser, whose high school football season and career ended after he dislocated his ankle and broke his fibula in New Castle's 31-7 win over Connersville, has been the leader of the Trojans' offense for the past two seasons.
In last Friday's sectional semifinal win, Grieser had 278 total yards (18-for-33, 253 passing) and threw for three touchdowns. As New Castle's starting quarterback, Grieser finished his career with 4,181 passing yards, 46 passing touchdowns, 955 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns.
