PARKER CITY, Ind. — Joel Kennedy shouldered the load for Monroe Central as it won its first-ever Mid-Eastern Conference title, earning himself Star Press football Player of the Week honors along the way.
The junior running back became the second player from the Golden Bears this season to win Player of the Week. In Monroe Central's 28-7 win over Shenandoah, Kennedy ran the ball a career-high 24 times for 110 rushing yards and a touchdown. He also added six tackles and three quarterback hurries defensively.
This season, Kennedy leads Monroe Central with 528 rushing yards to go along with 63 receiving yards and five total touchdowns.
