MUNCIE, Ind. — In the week leading up to Delta's game against Central, coach Mark Detweiler needed his veteran players to step up more than usual.
Detweiler was battling a cold and could barely speak during practices. So, he left the coaching to his veteran team, which started five upperclassmen Saturday night.
"I'm going to be honest, I couldn't talk this week at all and it probably helped us more than anything," Detweiler said. "I kind of challenged them, saying I can't do anything in practice for you, it's on you. You've got to start coaching the heck out of each other and I noticed it.
