MUNCIE, Ind. — A football player at Delta High School has tested positive for COVID-19, Delaware Community Schools Superintendent Reece Mann confirmed with The Star Press.
"We've made the appropriate notifications and folks have been quarantined," Mann said. "... as you're in quarantine you wait and you hope that those folks don't display any kind of symptoms because then further investigation takes place and, you know, more phone calls and more consultation with the health department. Ultimately, bottom line is students' and staff's safety, that's first and foremost."
When asked if anyone outside of the football team was in contact with the person who tested positive, Mann reiterated that those who might have had contact have been "asked to be in quarantine.
