MUNCIE, Ind. — Brady Hunt earned his respect in 2022.
Ball State football's redshirt freshman tight end on Thursday was named to the Football Writers Association of America's 2022 Freshman All-America team, the nation's only tight end to receive the honor. Hunt is also the first Cardinals tight end and fifth player overall to make the list, according to BSU Athletics.
Only one other Mid-American Conference player, University at Buffalo punter Anthony Venneri, was selected.
Hunt was a major contributor for BSU in his first full season, tallying 46 passes, 498 yards and five touchdowns (tied for the 12th most among all NCAA tight ends).
