MARION, Ind. — Delta and New Castle boys tennis programs have little in common historically.
The Eagles on Wednesday were competing for their 25th regional championship in 28 years. The Trojans, conversely, won their 18th sectional last weekend, their first since 2017, but had never made it past the regional round.
Yet they both will represent East Central Indiana in the IHSAA semi-state championships on Saturday following uniquely historic victories by each side. Here's how each regional tournament played out:
