COWAN, Ind. — A few weeks before the 2020-21 girls basketball season began, second-year Cowan coach Jeff Tharp was excited.
Like, really excited.
After they were unable to practice together throughout most of the offseason due to COVID-19, Tharp saw his players push each other in the months leading up to the year.
They set up a group chat where they would send film of the opponents they were going to play and challenged each other to do 100 push-ups every day. Whether they were on their own or practicing together, everyone found time to get into the gym and keep each other motivated.
