MUNCIE, Ind. — "New tradition!"
That's what Cowan's baseball players and coaches yell whenever they break a huddle together. They yelled it before Thursday night's game — one delayed an hour due to rain — against Daleville and they yelled it again before the bottom of the seventh inning.
When Aaron Wells was named the Blackhawks' head coach in December, he said he wanted to bring a new tradition to Cowan. It's one thing to have a team mantra; it's entirely different to have players buy into it. And it's still early in Wells' tenure, but the Blackhawks look like they've bought in.
