MUNCIE — The defining play of Central’s 73-66 loss to visiting Marion on Thursday night came with less than three minutes to play.
With the North Central Conference contest tied at 64, the ball rolled free under Marion’s basket after a missed shot. A Giants player fell on the ball, Marion coach James Blackmon hollered for timeout and the Giants went on to close the game on a 9-2 run.
“We had two or three guys around the ball, and we were picking at it instead of getting it,” Central coach Jeff Holloway said. “I thought that was a big momentum swing, and it went in their favor.
