Ball State Women’s Gymnastics drew record breaking attendance for their meets last season in Irving Gym, located in the Jo Ann Gora Student Recreation and Wellness Center.
Having limited room available, Irving Gym was only able to accommodate 600 people. Previously, the team averaged about 500-600 people in attendance.
But the 2015 season brought a record 1,564 spectators to their season opener alone, leaving nearly 1,000 spectators without a seat during the meet.
Drawing a continuous increased attendance throughout the season, the gymnastics team needed to relocate to allow for more spectators at their meets.
After undergoing a total floor resurfacing over the summer, the Ball State gymnastics team was able to finally call Worthen Arena their new home.
