MUNCIE, Ind. - - Ball State University has appointed Christy Longacre, a two-year assistant coach for the Cardinals, as its new head field hockey coach. Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Mark Sandy announced Longacre as the eighth head coach in program history Tuesday.
“Christy has proven herself as a collegiate All-American and as a valuable assistant coach,” Sandy said. “I am certain she will make an outstanding head coach and we are fortunate to have her lead our field hockey program.”
Longacre, a two-time All-American at Old Dominion, was first named assistant coach for the Ball State field hockey program in May 2014.
