MUNCIE, Ind. — Adisyn Coffey was on his way to get a haircut when he first heard that the Chicago White Sox wanted to draft him.
Already overwhelmed, Coffey was even more excited when he got a second call from the organization saying they wanted to draft him in the third round. On Thursday, he impatiently watched the second and most of the third round of the Major League Baseball Amatuer Draft, calling it "the longest wait of my entire life."
But then, with the No. 82 pick of the draft — one that was shortened to five rounds from its usual 40 — the White Sox selected Coffey.
