MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Host Central Michigan scored multiple runs in three of the first four innings on the way to a 7-3 win over the Ball State baseball team Friday afternoon at Theunissen Stadium.
The Cardinals (21-14, 7-3 MAC) had won five straight league games entering today’s contest. Central Michigan (8-26, 3-4) held Ball State to just five hits, its lowest output in 12 games.
Central Michigan scored a pair of two-out runs in the bottom of the first, highlighted by Ryan Heeke’s RBI double. The Chippewas extended their lead to 4-0 in the third inning on just one hit.
