Coming off a 38-19 season, Ball State started its march toward a league championship with an 11-3 exhibition win over Butler on Saturday afternoon. The day served as a showcase for pro scouts in attendance and included 60-meter dashes in the morning followed by a 12-inning game.
Justin Conant, an all-star in the Midwest Collegiate League in the offseason, continued his improvement as he went 2-for-2 with a pair of walks. Ryan Pelter had two hits and Mack Murphy tripled as the Cardinals pounded out 14 hits on the day.
