Three Ball State men's golfers turned in top-ten finishes Monday afternoon to cap an individual event at Delaware Country Club that featured 30 golfers among eight schools. In conjunction with Ball State, Golfweek hosted the 'Put Me In Coach' Invitational to provide opportunity for individual golfers without team scoring.
"The 'Put Me In Coach Invite' was a huge success!," said longtime Cardinals coach Mike Fleck. "Delaware Country Club was in phenomenal condition and their staff, along with Lance Ringler from GolfWeek, made the experience a great one for the student-athletes."
The event also served as the collegiate debut for Cardinal freshmen Happy Gilmore and Gavin Hare, who showcased their first tournament wearing Ball State colors with top-five finishes: Gilmore tied for third and Hare in fifth.
