For the first time since Crawfordsville was crowned in 1911, the Indiana high school state basketball tournament will not be completed.
The Indiana High School Athletic Association announced Thursday that the tournament was officially canceled. That decision came on the heels of the directive from Gov. Eric Holcomb that all Indiana schools would be closed until May 1 due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
IHSAA commissioner Bobby Cox said in a statement: “It is with great sadness and disappointment that we inform Hoosiers of the cancellation of the remaining games of the 2020 IHSAA boys basketball tournament series.
