MUNCIE, Ind. – Ball State baseball players Alex Call and Caleb Stayton were recently honored on the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District team for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Call and Stayton were two of 11 players selected from District 5, which encompasses all Division I universities in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio.
Call, a junior from River Falls, Wisconsin, currently leads the nation in doubles (23) and runs scored (62) while ranking ninth nationally in total bases (134). As of May 5, the right fielder led the Mid-American Conference in runs, doubles, triples, total bases and slugging percentage.
