MUNCIE — For a guy leading the Mid-American Conference in just about every important hitting statistic, Caleb Stayton’s biggest goal last fall was profoundly small.
It stands out now that the Cardinals have seven games left to play, because all the junior wanted was to play the entire season.
“I'm still on my way toward that goal,” Stayton said with a hopeful chuckle as he left practice last week. "So I didn’t anticipate putting up the numbers I’ve been able to put up. I’ll just praise the Lord for that one.”
He has plenty to be optimistic about.
