MUNCIE, Ind. -- Ball State running back Caleb Huntley was named to the preseason watch list for the Maxwell Award, given annually to the most outstanding player in college football.
A senior from Atlanta, Georgia, Huntley enters his senior season ninth in school history with 2,465 career rushing yards. He was named last week to the watch list for nation's top running back honor, the Doak Walker Award.
Huntley ranked third in the MAC last year with 106.2 rushing yards per game, topping the 100-yard mark in seven of eight conference games. He totaled 1,275 yards on the ground and led the Cardinals' MAC-best offense with 12 touchdowns.
