Byrdsong Ends Successful Run at NCAA East Prelims

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - - Junior sprinter Bryeana Byrdsong ended a highly successful stretch run to the 2019 outdoor season with a 38th-place finish in the first round of the 200m Friday evening at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field East Preliminary Championships held at North Florida's Hodges Stadium.

Byrdsong clocked in at 23.96 to finish sixth in her heat and 38th out of the 48 runners in the field. On Thursday, she placed 38th in the 100m with a time of 11.83.

A native of Indianapolis, Indiana, Byrdsong earned her spots in the NCAA East Preliminary Championships after a spectacular performance at the 2019 Mid-American Conference Outdoor Championships which saw her earn Most Valuable Performer honors after helping account for 32 of the Cardinals' 57 points at the meet.
