MUNCIE, Ind. — Ball State and Northern Illinois each entered Tuesday looking to avoid a three-game losing streak.
Northern Illinois, which had only had three Mid-American Conference wins and had not beat Ball State in nearly three years, left with a 64-58 victory. Tuesday marked the first time the Cardinals lost to the Huskies inside Worthen Arena since March 6, 2015. Ball State beat Northern Illinois in nine of their previous 11 contests.
It also brought Ball State's losing streak to three, the second time this season the Cardinals have lost three in a row, the last coming right before its modest three-game winning streak.
