KENT, Ohio — Redshirt juniors Sincere Carry and Malique Jacobs were making history in Kent State's 93-82 win over Ball State inside the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center on Tuesday night.
Carry made seven straight 3s in the second half, finishing 10-of-16 from deep and with 42 points, making him the first Kent State player since 1966 to score 40 or more points in a single game. Jacobs kept finding him, too, recording 10 assists to go along with 17 points and 11 rebounds, making him the first player in program history to record a triple-double.
And Kent State (18-9, 13-4 MAC), the hottest team in the Mid-American Conference, ran away from Ball State (12-15, 7-9 MAC) to record its ninth straight win and 11th win in 12 games.
