Ball State found itself on the road for the third time this season as it faced Northern Illinois in a Mid-American Conference matchup.
The Cardinals entered the Tuesday game in search of their first MAC win of the season, this being both their’s and the Huskies’ conference opener. BSU tipped off against NIU looking for its first road victory, too. And although Ball State coach James Whitford watched his team need overtime to do it, both of those potentialities were achieved in a 79-70 win.
