Ball State went on the road for a Friday matchup against Akron in search of a fourth-straight win and 3-0 start in Mid-American Conference play, but instead suffered a 75-60 loss.
The Cardinals (9-7, 2-1 in MAC) will now have to look ahead to a Tuesday game against Eastern Michigan, also on the road, for their next shot at win No. 10 this season. They’ll have to recover from what is their second-most lopsided defeat of the season behind the 21-point loss in Hawaii against Washington. And along the way BSU coach James Whitford and company will have to address the issues that compounded to lead to what took place against the Zips.
