Ball State dropped its third-straight road game in Mid-American Conference play Saturday with a 69-63 defeat against Toledo.
The Cardinals (16-13, 9-7 in MAC) failed to complete a regular-season sweep of the Rockets (15-14, 7-9). BSU coach James Whitford’s squad has now lost its first game away from home against Toledo since Feb. 2016. And now, if Ball State’s going to grab a bye in the MAC tournament, its home matchup Tuesday with Central Michigan and road game Friday against Northern Illinois have become much more important.
