Ball State faced Georgia Tech on Wednesday in Atlanta in what was the first-ever meeting between the two programs, and with a 65-47 victory BSU notched its second-straight win.
The Cardinals (6-4) benefited from another stellar night from redshirt freshman guard Jarron Coleman. A relentless defensive effort from BSU forced turnovers time and again, as well as many contested shots, allowing coach James Whitford’s squad to avoid being hampered much by its own miscues. And with quite possibly Ball State’s most significant, non-conference victory on the road since it beat Notre Dame in South Bend in December 2017, the Cardinals will head into the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic with more momentum than it has likely had all season.
