MUNCIE, Ind. — Ball State started 2022 with an 81-80 Mid-American Conference victory over Bowling Green.
Neither team had played since Dec. 21 as both saw their originally scheduled MAC openers on Wednesday postponed due to COVID-19 concerns.
The Cardinals (6-6) led at halftime but the Falcons (7-5), who came into the game riding a five-game winning streak, regained the lead in the second half and held onto it until the final seconds. With eight seconds left, Miryne Thomas drilled a mid-range jumper to give the Cardinals a one-point lead.
