PARKER CITY, Ind. — Muncie Burris boys basketball had not won a sectional game since the 2011-2012 season.
Burris’ leading scorer and state-ranked 3-point sharpshooter, senior Colin McBride, had zero points. The Owls (9-14) had lost several close games to very good teams but were still a nine-point underdog coming into their game against the Winchester Golden Falcons (13-11), which also had the size advantage.
That did not stop the senior-laden small public school from advancing in the 2022-2023 Class 2A Monroe Central sectional.
