MUNCIE, Ind. — There are spots on Ball State football’s depth chart where head coach Mike Neu and his staff will need to replace key pieces from their 2020 team.
Caleb Huntley’s departure leaves a void at running back, as does Antonio Phillips’ at cornerback. Antwan Davis left to start a professional career like Huntley and Phillips both did, and therefore there’s a chance a wide receiver could have a breakout season in 2021. Even kicker Jack Knight, who led BSU in field goals and extra points made last season, who delivered the go-ahead field goal against Western Michigan that sent the Cardinals to the Mid-American Conference championship game, isn’t on the roster anymore.
