Ball State head football coach Mike Neu will earn a base salary of $425,000 and is signed through Feb. 28, 2021.
The offer letter, obtained by The Star Press on Friday, from Ball State President Paul Ferguson for the five-year deal is printed with a Jan. 8 date, but Neu's signature is coupled with a hand-written date of Jan. 6. The school will hold an introductory press conference for Neu today at 2 p.m.
Based on last year's salary totals, Neu would be the seventh-highest paid coach in the Mid-American Conference. The league's smallest salary for a head coach, $390,150, belongs to Paul Haynes at Kent State.
