BSU men’s basketball signed another prospect, but it could add more

MUNCIE, Ind. — Ball State men’s basketball coach James Whitford wants to keep parts of the conversations private, but at the end of this past season he talked with each of his athletes about a number of different things.

Whitford said April 8 that he tries to provide each individual with an accurate assessment of where they’re at, what they need to work on and what a realistic scenario looks like for them moving forward. He said each guy has the opportunity to make a decision on whether to stay or leave. And he said that, understanding that in recent weeks two pieces of his roster who fans otherwise would have been expected to return had entered the transfer portal.
