MUNCIE, Ind. — As Tyler Stockton looked back this week on Ball State football’s loss in its season opener against Miami (Ohio), he didn’t shy away from finding himself to blame for what happened to the Cardinals’ defense in the second half.
Stockton, in his first year as BSU’s head defensive coordinator, had watched his players hold the RedHawks to only 10 points in the first half. He’d watched Ball State lay the foundation for a game that’d see it end with a number of tackles for loss, quarterback hurries and sacks that it wasn’t capable of recording at times in 2019.
