MUNCIE, Ind. — Ball State baseball received two honors this week, bright spots in an otherwise tough start to the season.
Fifth-year first baseman Trenton Quartermaine on Monday was selected as one of the National Players of the Week after a strong offensive stretch. He notched four straight games with a home run, tallying four runs scored and five RBI's as he went 7-for-19 with an eye-popping 1.053 slugging percentage.
Quartermaine was the lone Cardinal to not strike out the entire week, and also had a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage on 20 chances.
Sophomore pitcher Ty Johnson also received recognition on Monday, earning Mid-American Conference Pitcher of the Week honors.
