BSU Athletics announces ‘Ball YOU’ program as its strategy for name, image and likeness

MUNCIE, Ind. — Back when Beth Goetz played soccer in college more than two decades ago, the thought of the name, image and likeness discussion that’s so prevalent now wasn’t on her mind.

Nowadays it is. It has been for some time. And it is officially the focus of a new strategic plan at Ball State University as she continues as BSU’s athletic director.

With a decision by the NCAA about how athletes can benefit from their name, image and likeness (NIL) seemingly imminent before July 1, BSU announced a program Monday called “Ball YOU” that it plans to use to aid its athletes as they enter a new era of college sports.
