MUNCIE, Ind. — Mike Neu’s fourth recruiting class has a different feel than his first three. And a much different feel than any Ball State class in the last 15 years.
There were 10 Indiana high school players that signed with Ball State on Wednesday for National Signing Day, the most since at least 2003. There are typically five or six Indiana players in each class. The outlier was 2015, when eight Indiana players signed.
So to have 10 in-state kids is certainly unusual. Neu said on a Facebook Live interview that it wasn’t intentional to have a ton of in-state kids, but that they were the best fit for the program.
