NEW CASTLE, Ind. — Last season, by winning a regional title, Blue River's girls basketball team did something no other team in program history has.
That championship might've come as a bit of surprise to the Vikings, who were in what fourth-year head coach Terry Bales called a "developmental" year after graduating several seniors from the season before. Blue River entered the 2019-20 tournament with a 11-9 record — winning three regular season games by single digits — and finished just one win away from advancing to the Class A state championship game.
This year, Blue River is playing like a reigning semistate qualifier and one of the best teams in Class A.
