MUNCIE, Ind. — Blackford star freshman Luke Brown will miss the rest of the season with a fractured tibia, the school announced Wednesday.
Brown is one of the state's leading scorers at 27.8 points per game and has led the resurgence of a previously downtrodden Blackford program, which is 11-5 after going 1-69 in the previous three seasons.
"The outpouring of prayers and support has been overwhelming," Blackford assistant coach Don Hoover said in a release. "We hope that the Blackford faithful will come out and support the Bruins for the remainder of the season."
Added Blackford athletic director Tony Uggen: "It certainly wasn’t the news we wanted to hear, I also have appreciated the thoughts and prayers from many throughout the community and afar for Luke’s condition.
