MUNCIE, Ind. — In the shadow of the Luke Brown era, Blackford girls basketball developed the foundations of a winning team.
The Bruins endured consecutive 1-win seasons from 2017-2019, one under current head coach Mitch Waters, who enters his fourth season at the helm. The team then came close to a winning record the past two years, going 10-13 and 10-11, despite leaning on underclassmen.
Blackford (2-1) has been building, and hopes this is the season it earns its first winning record since 2014-2015. With one of the better Class 2A guard tandems in juniors Olivia Leas and Olivia Waters, as well as solid depth, the Bruins are trending upward.
