MUNCIE, Ind. — From the outside, Ball Gym is quiet as masked volleyball players are dropped off and enter a single door. Upon entry, hand sanitizer is applied. Before water breaks, more sanitizer.
Inside, there's the loud sound of volleyballs smacking off the floor and the hands of a couple dozen spaced out Burris players. Practice just started, but the players are locked in as Jim Craig, a longtime coach in his first season leading the Owls, offers instruction.
It's different, sure, but it's volleyball. And this is Ball Gym, home of the 22-time state champion Burris Owls.
