For 53 years, Muncie Central has owned the distinction of the most boys basketball state championships in Indiana history. This weekend, that mark will be in serious jeopardy.
Marion, on the heels of a last-second win over Griffith on Wednesday night at the Lafayette Jeff Semistate, will face Evansville Bosse on Saturday in the Class 3A state championship game at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. The Giants will be going for their eighth state championship, which would equal the Bearcats' total.
“You root for your fellow NCC team. You have to be happy for them,” said second-year Central coach Jeff Holloway, who is also a Central graduate.
