MUNCIE, Ind. — In between the band chanting, “He’s a freshman!” after he scored baskets in the first quarter, Central’s Victor Young III heard another voice.
“Follow your shot!”
The voice of Victor Young Jr. — the point guard for Central’s last state championship in 1988 — in the Muncie Fieldhouse is unmistakable, at least to younger Young, who has emerged as one of Central’s best players.
“It don’t matter who’s yelling, it seems like my ear always finds his voice,” Young said with a laugh following Central’s 66-63 loss to visiting Richmond on Friday night in North Central Conference play.
