A historic season ended Friday as Ball State lost 4-0 to No. 10 Michigan in its first-ever NCAA Tournament match.
Junior Toni Ormond was the only Ball State player to win a set as she knocked off Michigan's Alex Najarian 6-3 at the No. 4 singles spot. Their match was abandoned, as were four others, since the Wolverines quickly won the two doubles and three singles matches needed to clinch.
All six of the Cardinals' singles players won at least one game.
This was a big year for the Cardinals as they captured their first Mid-American Conference regular season title, notched a program-record 22 wins and made the NCAA Tournament for the first time.
