MUNCIE, Ind. — After Ball State’s near upset of No. 8 Notre Dame on Saturday, the players didn’t hide their disappointment. Head coach Mike Neu was glad to hear his players dismiss moral victories.
Ball State, to put it simply, wasn’t satisfied with losing 24-16 in front of 77,622 fans at Notre Dame Stadium, even though many at the game and watching at home on NBC were surely surprised to see a 34.5-point underdog in a one-possession game late.
"We didn’t come in here to stay in the game, we came to win," outside linebacker Ray Wilborn said.
