MUNCIE — It’s been 13 days since former Ball State head coach Pete Lembo announced his resignation.
In that time, athletic director Mark Sandy has been making phone calls, gauging interest and “getting to know potential candidates.” Sandy said he’s spoken to “less than 10” prospective hires over the phone and informally met two of them in person.
He didn’t refer to either of those as interviews. “An interview would be when they come to Indiana, or campus,” Sandy said. He wouldn’t say whether those two meetings were with candidates from outside Ball State’s program.
