BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Ball State junior Charity Griffith earned a pair of Second Team All-American honors at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.
Griffith competed in both the high jump and pentathlon, where she finished 15th and 16th, respectively. Griffith had a 1.73m high jump and scored 2,716 points in the pentathlon, becoming just the second Ball State athlete to earn All-American honors in two events in the two season. Patricia Soman, who competed in the long jump and triple jump in 2003, was the only other one to achieve that honor.
“We’re extremely proud of Charity and all of accomplishments this year - setting two school records in the multi and the high jump, being the first person in our program to qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships in 13 years,” Ball State head coach Adrian Wheatley said in a release.
