MUNCIE, Ind. — Sometimes, Kelli Miller Phillips said it doesn't feel like Ball State's women's volleyball team had a season last year.
Well, technically they didn't, not last year at least. The 2020 season — which saw Ball State go 9-12 in a conference-only schedule — wrapped up just seven months ago, due to COVID-19.
The season itself was a blur. Miller Phillips, who spent time on maternity leave, said the entire team and coaching staff was together just 10 times throughout the abbreviated season. Ball State finished with a sub-.500 record, though there were several close matches the Cardinals could've won.
