MUNCIE, Ind. — Ball State opened the semifinal round of the 2021 Mid-American Conference women's volleyball tournament with a 3-1 (25-23, 21-25, 25-18, 25-11) victory over Western Michigan.
The Cardinals (28-3, 17-1 MAC) dominated the fourth set, hitting .600 as a team, to seal the victory. But Ball State wouldn't win the match without a little excitement.
Ball State and Western Michigan went back-and-forth in the first two sets. Ball State won the first and Western Michigan won the second. In the third, Ball State started to get on a roll late to take a 2-1 lead.
