MUNCIE, Ind. — There is still basketball left to play at Worthen Arena this season.
Ball State women's basketball (25-8) will host Belmont (23-11) at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 16, in the first round of the Women's National Invitational Tournament (WNIT).
The Cardinals received an at-large bid and are making their eighth WNIT entry under 11-year head coach Brady Sallee, and the program's 11th appearance overall. The team is 6-10 all-time in the tournament, with its best run coming in Sallee's first season (2012-13) when it advanced to the Round of 16.
Ball State also competed in the WNIT last year, losing 93-70 at Marquette.
