MUNCIE, Ind. — The run was coming. It had to be, right? This Ball State women's team was too good for too long to go out like this.
But it was too little, too late in the Mid-American Conference Tournament quarterfinals.
Trailing Western Michigan by 26 in the third quarter, Ball State cut the deficit to single digits but lost 65-54 to put a major dent in its hopes for an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament.
“We played as poorly as we did all year. Bad time to do it,” Ball State coach Brady Sallee said to 102.
