Before Ball State's women's basketball team left Muncie for Cleveland earlier this week to play in the Mid-American Conference Tournament, head coach Brady Sallee said the goal for the Cardinals, who earned the No. 5 spot, was to play three games.
That meant Ball State would be playing Saturday in the conference championship game, something it hadn't done since 2014.

After weathering a 17-point deficit Wednesday to beat Northern Illinois 60-54 Wednesday, Ball State (20-11) was on the other side of a ferocious comeback Friday morning.
